Mockingbird Properties* is a Dallas-based real estate investment company thatspecializes in the acquisition and development of Commercial Real Estate including luxury high-rise Condominiums, Townhomes, Retail, and Urban Mixed Use.  Mitchell Vexler,  President and Chief Executive Officer, formed Mockingbird Properties in 1990. The company has the in-house proven ability to take any project, from the acquisition of land to the sale of a completed property.  We use or extensive professional knowledge to create quality properties through responsive management and innovative design.

With experience in acquisition, leasing, development, construction, and sales, Mockingbird Properties is positioned for substantial growth, and we continue to actively pursue opportunities.

Mockingbird Properties* business units include:

 

Mockingbird Management Company fulfills many tasks for properties owned by Mockingbird and its affiliates including management for Retail and Multi Family Properties, overseeing  the architecture,  engineering; construction, property management, finance and sales departments.

      

MAVEX   Construction Corporation oversees  the construction of Mockingbird  owned projects and includes, value engineering, site analysis, review of market  analysis, and full budget analysis. Manages the multidisciplinary design, construction and implementation for complex facilities, specializing in building infrastructure,  specialized mechanical systems, multimedia networks, and security systems. This unit also works closely with product manufacturers, utility companies, government agencies and industry associations to develop new, procedures standards that reduce life-cycle costs, accelerate construction, and enhance the quality and efficiency of the built environment.

Our Mission

The goal of Mockingbird Properties is to generate exceptional returns on investment  equities by providing a complete range of Real Estate Services, and managementexcellence only for properties that Mockingbird owns.  We dedicate ourselves to seizing economic opportunity through aninsightful and analytical approach to market trends.Our primary responsibility is to insure the superior performance and quality of ourinvestments for our residents, commercial tenants and our selves.


We have a special responsibility to our commercial tenants and residents who occupy our properties.  We are dedicated to assisting them either in achieving optimal success in the operations of their businesses, or comfort and convenience in their housing.  We encourage an environment within the company of open communication and continuous follow up that supports and reassures tenants and residents that the management company cares, thus assuring longer term relationships.

Mitchell Vexler

   

Mitchell Vexler is President and Founder of Mockingbird Strategic Capital Management Company & Affiliates based in Dallas, TX.  Mr. Vexler has 23 years experience in commercial real estate, and has held interests in more than 65 property investment entities throughout the United States and Canada.  He is a general partner and manager in investment entities that own and operate retail, office, and multi-family projects.

Catherine Vexler

   

Catherine Vexler, Director of Property Management, has 16 years extensive asset management experience with Mockingbird Property multi-family, retail and commercial properties.  She is the Project Lead with architects, and coordinates all aspects of construction and inspections.  In addition, Ms. Vexler manages Mockingbird's tenant retention programs.

Maureen Foley

    

Maureen Foley, Certified Public Accountant, L.L.C., has over 16 years accounting experience.  As an independent tax consultant, she provides financial and tax statement preparation services for Mockingbird Properties.  Ms. Foley has held tax associate positions at Wallace Sanders & Company and Price Waterhouse. Ms. Foley holds a Master of Science in Taxation from the University of Texas at Arlington and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Saint Edwards.

David Cannon

   

David Cannon, Architect and Owner of David Cannon & Associates, has 23 years architecture experience. Mr. Cannon serves as the Chief Architect for Mockingbird Properties providing full architectural services.  Mr. Cannon is licensed in Texas, Nevada, Arizona and California and has completed over 140 residential and commercial projects.  His experience includes principal architectural and project management positions with Raymond Harris & Associates, F & S Partners Incorporated, Gilbert Aja & Associates, and CRSS Incorporated.  Mr. Cannon holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design from the University of Oklahoma.

Elio Ciccotelli

Elio Ciccotelli, P. Eng., has over 20 years experience in the acquisition, planning, development, construction and marketing of new residential and commercial projects.  Mr. Ciccotelli as Director of Development and Construction for Mockingbird Properties will be responsible to oversee the development, design and construction of all new projects.  Mr. Ciccotelli holds a Bachelor of Applied Science and Engineering from the University of Toronto, Canada.  He is a member of Association of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Canada.

Thomas L. Davis

   

Thomas Davis, Attorney of Business Law, has 23 years legal experience.  Mr. Davis serves as the Legal Advisor for Mockingbird Properties.  He specializes in contracts, business and commercial law, land use & zoning, mortgages and foreclosures, and uniform commercial codes.  Mr. Davis holds a J.D. from Baylor University School of Law and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor 

University.

Jeanette Moore has 20+ years of national and divisional marketing, sales and management experience with a comprehensive background in both the property management and hotel industries.  Ms. Moore is responsible for the overall operations of the multi-famiy and condo divisions of Mockingbird Properties.

Raffaele Meo

   

Raffaele Meo, P.ENG., P.E., President and Founder of Meo & Associates, Inc., Windsor, Ontario, has over 20 years engineering experience.  Mr. Meo specializes in Development Consulting and Municipal and Environmental Engineering.  He is the Senior Design Engineer for Mockingbird Properties and provides development, architectural and engineering services.  Mr. Meo holds a Master of Applied Science and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Windsor, Canada.  He is a member of PEO; Texas Board of Professional Engineers; Engineering Institute of Canada; Consulting Engineers of Ontario; Canadian Society for Civil Engineering.
